Sourcing your products from the China wholesale markets means margins you can't find elsewhere, margins which will skyrocket your profits and allow you to dominate your market.

China has been described as the world's factory.

It might well be re-named China Wholesale Inc.

The phenomenal economic growth in China, typified by the rise of Shanghai - now the world's biggest city, in the world's biggest country - will have an ever-increasing effect on world trade, and
on the world of re-selling on the Internet.

China manufactures for the world, and anyone looking to source products just has to start their search in the China wholesale markets. And that means me, and probably you as well.

Many US re-sellers are still convinced that the way to a quick fortune is to go to China, find the guy who makes shoes for Gucci or handbags for Prada, and persuade him to run off an extra few
hundred.

A less-reputable China wholesale manufacturer might do this, but the product will not bear the coveted label. You might manage to import the goods into the US, but no way can you sell them -
legally - as brand-name products, even if they are made by the same manufacturer as the genuine product.

Beware the so-called "grey market". The Brand name companies are becoming ever-more aggressive in pursuing through the courts anyone infringing their copyright.

In most manufacturing sectors, China is a volume producer, which means that you will always be facing high minimum order quantities, typically thousands of units, which make it seem a
no-go area for the solitary trader of modest means. But there is a solution to this problem, as you will see later.

China already has a good reputation for quality clothing, shoes, and basic commodities, but increasingly China wholesalers are turning to high-technology products.

The good news is that the China wholesale manufacturers and the agents are very clued-up on the US market, and very quick to respond to requests for sample products and price and delivery
quotations. The really good news is that there is usually an unbelievably margin, so if you have the bankroll and the expertise you could really make a lot of money at this.

So what about a plan of action?

If the China wholesale market excites you, you really can't do without the services of a local China-based agent.

He is the guy who has personal contact with all the manufacturers and factory owners. He knows the China wholesale world intimately - he knows the best sources for all the products. He acts as the middleman and effectively as the purse-holder, and you will need such an expert to guide you through the minefield that is the Chinese-US tax issue.

He will ensure that the product gets shipped on time, and most importantly can check on the quality of the product before it is shipped.

These Chinese export agents are monitored and encouraged financially by their Government to promote China wholesale business overseas, so you should be able to find a reputable one without any problem.

The bottom line is - if you're serious about sourcing goods from China in volume, then you really can't do the business without a good China-based agent.
You just have to invest the time to go over to China, ideally when one of the big trade fairs or conventions are taking place. (You can easily find this information on your favorite Search Engine).

Here you can meet with the agents, who can introduce you to the factory owners, who will invite you to the factory to see the product being made, and will probably give you an on-the-spot quotation.

You will find, as I did, that much business in China is still conducted on a personal-relationship basis, so if you don't make the personal contacts and establish and cultivate relationships in the China wholesale world, then you probably won't thrive in China.

If you simply haven't got the time or resources to establish personal contacts in China, then you could look for a good US based Chinese agent or broker - ideally one based in your own city or State.(Again, you can find one using the Search Engines).
You may be lucky and find one who has good contacts in China, and he can guide you through much of the bureaucracy involved in importing from a China wholesaler.

Find out who he has represented before, and be sure to contact this person or business to check out your agent or broker.

There is an excellent resource on the internet with a lot of expertise in sourcing China wholesale products. This is the website at www.alibaba.com, which offers excellent advice, and can immediately supply details of Chinese manufacturers for your chosen product.

So there are 3 levels at which you can get involved with the China wholesale markets - the 3 paths to enlightenment and profit as we might call them.

At the bottom level,if you just want to get a feel for what is available, then spend some time on research at www.Alibaba.com - a great resource which can show you the incredible range of products available, and which can put you in contact with agents or manufacturers in the China wholesale business.

At a slightly more ambitious level, if you are committed to doing business long-term, then you could look for a reliable US-based Chinese agent or broker, who for a fee or commission will ease your way into the often-baffling world of importing goods from China.

And the serious marketers will jump in at the top level, and get themselves over to China, the sooner the better, in order to establish those long-term relationships with those active in the China wholesale world.

Relationships which will reap rich rewards for years to come.

If you aren't big enough or confident enough to face this on your own, then find a few other re-sellers in the same market - or related market - as yourself, and pool your time and resources.
Whatever it takes, get into this lucrative market place - the potential profits are HUGE!

China and its manufacturers will have an enormous impact on the Internet re-selling world over the next 5 years.

It is already starting to happen, and the time to get involved is now.

The guy who sources the product at the lowest price is the guy who wins, particularly on the Internet.

And that lowest price will almost certainly be provided by a Chinese manufacturer.

If you're still not persuaded to check out the fabulous opportunities in the China wholesale markets, then you should certainly have a look at the best resource on the internet for sourcing products for reselling - just go to http://www.wholesale-dropship-researchproduct.com/wholesaleinfo.html

If you want to be good at the game of foosball, you only have to learn two important strategies -good offense and impenetrable defense. All other foosball strategies fall under these two categories.

When playing foosball, which is very similar to real soccer strategy, defense is king. And for starters, good defense involves learning how to resist spinning the rods aimlessly. This move, in fact, is not permitted in amateur and professional competitions. Besides, if you spin the rods too much, you'll lose control of your men and the game in general. Plus, you'll make horrible shots that won't break your opponent's defense. To block your opponents effectively, make sure your players are in an upright position at all times. Quick reflexes are also important in blocking shots.

As far as offense is concerned, you should be more aggressive. An aggressive offense means you have to hit the ball hard, among many other things. The harder a ball is hit, the tougher it is to defend. But a hard hit ball is going to be worthless if you can't strike the ball accuracy. You should focus on accuracy and force when you are on the offense - the combination of these two skills is deadly. If you master these two skills, you'll be difficult to beat.

Passing is also an important part of any good foosball offense. You need to develop a clear eye so you can see which figure has a good shot. But more than a sharp eye, you need to have loads of patience. Sometimes you will need to wait until a good shot develops - if you are playing an tough opponent, it may take awhile for a shot to open up.

Each rod on a foosball table has a different number of players. It was created that way for a purpose. It is only right that you use the position of your men to your advantage. Use the goalie to pass to the five-figure bar or the three-figure bar onto the goalie. This way, you'll create a good shot for your own players. But more importantly, you will leave your opponent just watching and preparing for your moves.

In any type of game, practice is what you need to excel. You can't learn all the basics, techniques, and special strategies of foosball overnight. You have to put some effort into learning and mastering each skill. Don't worry; your sacrifices will certainly reap momentous rewards.

Tyler Landow is a product director at Foosball Central. The company has a wide range of foosball tables including Shelti foosball tables.

Before Tiger Woods came to the attention of sports audiences, golf was primarily known as a game among the rich. The sport was more associated with middle aged men than young, glamorous players like Woods and Michelle Wie. But now, not only is golf a game for the young, it is also something that people follow in television like soccer, tennis, basketball and baseball. The emergence of young professional players has made the game a mainstream sport. With the popularity of the sport comes a bevy of sponsors that market products from clothing to supplies to golf sunglasses. Golf is a game as marketable as the next sport with its players as its most effective advertisers.

Golf sunglasses are a necessity among players since the game is played in an open field where the sun shines directly on the players and the brightness of its light is further enhanced by the greens. As much as a necessity, sunglasses worn by golfers are also a fashionable accessory, with ordinary consumers' purchase decisions likely to be influenced by what the golfers are wearing. Brands of golfers' sunglasses like Bolle, Rudy Project, Oakley, Adidas and Nike have come up with various models designed to protect players from the harmful rays of the sun and at the same time make them look cool for the television cameras.

In purchasing golfing eyewear, a buyer needs to look for a brand that has the ability to block both UVB and UVA light. A pair of sunglasses with higher nanometer rating is a better option since it would be much effective at blocking the sun's ultraviolet light. Ability to enhance contrast and higher depth perception properties are also a must. In this regard, sunglasses with yellow lenses are the most highly recommended for the golf course. Yellow-lensed sunglasses are known for effectively enhancing the differences in the surface and the grain and can help players determine variations in slope and terrain.

Another important feature that golfers' sunglasses should have is a 180-degree vision. Some current models have this feature which allows players to view the line of putt through the lens without having to lift his or her head. Sunglasses with such vision are also known as wrap lenses or swept back lenses. Rimless sunglasses are also common among golfers since rimless eyepieces allow them to look down at the ball without being distracted by the sight of the glasses' rim.

Golf sunglasses can cost between $30 and $300 depending on the brand and the features. Regardless of the price, what every golfer should remember is to choose a pair with the highest capability to protect the eyes from the UV rays of the sun. It would also be great if the pair comes with a trendy design and an attention-grabbing look.

Sunglassology.com provides you with information on all kinds of golf sunglasses. Where to buy them and what to look out for.

There are a million of sports fans around the world. Sports rank almost number one among interests and hobbies of most people. There is a sport for every human being in this planet. If you do not have one, it is only because you did not go around looking for that one sport for you or worse you never tried any sport at all.

Every clique and every country has a favorite sport they love and extensively promote. Europe will never be the same without football. The United States of America can never have enough of the National Basketball Association and Superbowl. Sports channels like ESPN and Star Sports thrive on healthy ratings and steady support from advertisers.

It follows then sports personalities are just as well loved around the world. Michael Jordan has Nike. Kobe Bryant was once poster boy fro Adidas. Danica Patrick inspired a lot of women to get into auto racing.

David Beckham was style icon for both football fanatics and those who just think he carries of all types of clothing really well. These athletes can attest ho dressing up right can make or break a race or a game. They have to pay attention to details down to the shoes they are wearing.

Choosing the right pair of shoes is vital in almost all sports. One sports shoes chain that increasingly gaining popularity is Athletes Foot. The store name doubling as brand name is very smart. One might think that it is a bad choice considering the bad picture that comes to mind when Athletes Foot is mentioned but upon closer look you will realize that and athletes foot and footwear can make a lot of difference in the athletes over all performance. This is why Athletes Foot is a very marketable brand name because it speaks for itself.

So for athletes and would be athletes, it is safe to go into one outlet and go over the various brands and designs that these brands have to offer. For sure they have all sorts but one thing that people, both athletes and non-athletes, should have is a pair of sneakers. A pair of sneakers is basic footwear that is ever comfortable and dependable for everyday wear. It is then acceptable to splurge on an expensive but quality wise worth it sneakers. A person should have at least one pair or better yet two so one can alternate.

The Sears-Kmart merger hopes to fabricate some sort of silver lining for
both retailers but instead seems to embody the inevitable philosophy of "going down together." Kmart, an already sinking ship, certainly worsens conditions for Sears, and Sears does not have a strong enough current to keep Kmart afloat when there are enterprises like Wal*Mart and Target constantly blasting holes in the stern with brand messages of "smart and classy."

On the opposite end of the branding spectrum, Nike sits at the top of the todem
and watches the plethora of other brands struggling beneath. Nike is the only brand
of shoe for which people are willing to pay two to three times more just to bear the
swoosh emblem in the gym. Nike is the only athletic brand creating new and original
advertising (i.e. the Nike Pro Apparel "Warriors" campaign) while Adidas, Reebok,
Puma, New Balance, and countless others attempt to "be like Mike" and copycat
concepts to boost their market share. In reality, Nike only becomes more powerful
and valued despite the efforts of brand emulation.

Before Sears merged with Kmart, Sears carried several Nike products, shoes,
clothing, a few sporting goods...etc. However, when Sears announced the
agreement with Kmart, Nike announced to Sears that they would no longer be
needing their shelves. If Sears was opening up to Kmart, Nike was closing off to
Sears. There is a simple equation and contingency of Nike's brand conservation.

Kmart is known for "lower quality, but dirt cheap," and Nike is a premium, high
quality brand that can inflate prices based on brand equity and reputation.

What can brands like Sears and Kmart learn from brands like Nike?

Unfortunately
not much can be accomplished at this point because when it comes to brand, this
market does not allow much time and space for second chances let alone acts of
desperation. Nike "got it" from the beginning, and continues to grow their market
share by being the father ship. Consumers can see themselves inside the Nike brand
and feel a sense of pride and confidence. Sears and Kmart cannot even even make
consumers feel like consumers. Being loyal to these brands feels more like a public
service.

Would you believe that you have different choices for soccer corner flags?

Different choices? Yes. But there is one thing standard about soccer corner flags. Their height. The standard height is 5 feet, or 60 inches, or 1.42 meters.

However, that is where the consistency of soccer corner flags ends. Let's look at what is available by working our way up from the ground:

Grounding

There are different ways to secure the flags in the corners of your soccer field. The type of field will help to determine what type of base that you need.

  • Straight in screw type stake. Just stick it in the ground. Good for hard or soft ground. The only issue being that they can easily fall over if you run into them.
  • T-type stake. This provides two separate prongs shaped like the letter U to push into the ground. Will provide a little more stability than the single screw type.
  • Angled type stake. This provides a couple of inches of offset between where the stake is stuck in the ground, and where the pole starts its vertical rise. It allows the flag to be right on the corner, but the stake to be outside the field of play.
  • Spring loaded. Contains a spring at the base for added flexibility.
  • Hollow plastic base. Can be filled with water or sand so they stay put. Good for indoor and outdoor use.
  • Weighted base for fields where you cannot insert anything into the field.
  • Corner flags come in sets of 4 but can be purchased individually if you need to replace only 1 or 2. They can also be purchased in multiples of 4 if you need to outfit an entire soccer club or city soccer fields.

    The Pole

Poles are usually made of plastic. There are 2 types of plastic that are normally used:

    • PVC plastic. Lightweight but breakable.
    • Acetate plastic. Will not break or shatter.

Pole diameter can range from 1/2 inch right up to 1 1/2 inches for a World Cup quality corner flag set.

Carrying full size corner flag poles can be a real pain sometimes, even if you have a corner flag carry bag. So most manufacturers offer 2 piece and 3 piece poles as well. These 2 and 3 piece poles come with an internal shock cord so the pieces never leave each other. You don't have to worry about losing a piece of the pole.

    Colorful Flags

Flags are always either triangular or square in shape. The flags are always bright, even neon in color. They come in a variety of colors with the most common being:

    • Red.
    • Yellow.
    • Red and Yellow checkers.
    • Black and white checkers.
    • Red with a diagonal white stripe.

Do you even remember what color your home field uses?

    adidas Men's Copa Soccer Sock

    #216084.SW

Whenever I take a client shopping I am amazed at what I observe in the fitting rooms. Usually people seem to be taking three or more items into their cubicle and what would surprise any observer is the very small percentage of items that are actually bought. Sometimes reasons are given to the assistants, such as: 'It doesn't fit', 'I don't like it', 'It doesn't suit me.' As an image consultant waiting for my client to appear in clothes that do suit, she does like and do fit (or only need a minor tweak), I am disappointed to see the sad faces of many disappointed customers. However, as I stand there I can tell which faces will be gloomy on trying on the items. So many customers confirm my own thoughts about the articles as they come out of the cubicles.

In Canada, a machine called the Bodyskanner and team of technicians is travelling around. A person stands still in a special cubicle whilst 88 measurements of their body are made by laser. This enables a pattern to be made for the person, which they receive in approximately a month. The customer has a catalogue and can order custom made patterns by entering a code. Customers using this system report that the fit is perfect. So this is great if you are a dressmaker but what about the rest of us? Could such technology not be used to make clothes for us?

Selfridges, in London, in 2004 launched a similar system to this for making the 'perfect' pair of jeans. A large number of measurements are taken in a few seconds and then the customer chooses the denim colour, style and waist height - from a given range. The cost of these is approximately 250. The jeans might fit perfectly but are they flattering to your shape? Anyone who has had a style and image consultation knows that there is more to looking good in jeans than having them fit perfectly. For example, is your body shape crying out for minimal detail in the hip area? If so, you would do well to avoid the very noticeable fly fronted zip, the numerous pockets and the studding that are part of so many jeans. If you spend a lot on jeans or even if you only wear them at weekends, getting impartial advice on how they look can be vital and certainly worth the cost of a consultation- and that is without considering all the other advice which would be part of your session with an image consultant. Many large stores seem interested in this type of technology. Possibly this is the result of the current economic difficulties, the need to attract more trade and the high proportion of clothes that are returned because they do not fit. The Heinrich-Hertz Institute in Berlin has developed a 'magic mirror' for trying out new clothes. A customer can see how designs and colours of an item will look, having for example just chosen one top. As the person moves round, the image of the movement can be seen. This development is a refinement of the system used for shoe fitting in the Adidas store in Paris. This embryonic technology could lead to just such a the system that is being used in Canada for home dressmaking being used for 'off the peg' items.

Unfortunately though clothes such as this should fit, the technology will not choose the shapes that are flattering to a person's body shape, proportions, scale, colouring and style personality which are all important points to take into account when buying an item. Here is where a consultation with an image consultant and the written advice that you are given in a personalised style booklet will really pay dividends and enable you not just to have clothes that fit but ones that suit the whole you. Style is so much more than just a good fit, but style is nothing without a good fit. If you find this confusing then rest assured that your style and image consultant can sort this out for you and discuss with you the main features that you need to consider for the unique you when you go shopping.

Janet Major is a Senior Image Consultant with Colour Me Beautiful Image Consultants. Located on the South Cheshire/North Staffordshire border, Janet offers advice on all aspects of personal and corporate image, such as colour analysis, style consultations and make-up lessons for women; colour and style and image for men and tailor made sessions designed to improve the personal image portrayed by individuals in business. The history of lacrosse claims to make it the first sport of America. Created by the Native American Indian and adopted by the French and other European followers then migrated north to Canada all of whom embraced and helped the sport grow. While modern day lacrosse has been most popular in the United States and throughout Europe for over a century.

Lacrosse is a sport that combines soccer with basketball and hockey. It has become so popular because its easy to pick up, great exercise and anyone can play. It is a game of speed, quickness, coordination and teamwork. Now children and adults of all ages can enjoy playing this great sport.

The history of lacrosse literally crosses over centuries of time and is based in the Native American History. As many games that include a stick and ball or rock of some sort it is said that the game was first played to develop healthy strong workers and resolve disputes between families and villages.

Some historians believe that lacrosse or games of this nature were actually played as a precursor to combat. Much the way hockey was born the villagers would span acres of field and the battles could take days to be decided. It goes without saying these first games were rather physically brutal and have since tamed down since early times.

George Beers is often referred to as the founder of lacrosse history or at least the first to begin modifying and standardizing the game in 1867. He applied a field size as well as a limit to the number of players on the field and a number of other simple rules. A decade later NYU formed the first college team then a number of high school teams followed.

The majority of the first games in lacrosse history only included men. It wasnt until the late 1800s and early 1900s that womens teams were recognized at the high school and collegiate level. The rules and equipment from that time have changed dramatically as well. The early games in lacrosse history essentially had no protective gear at all. It wasnt until the 1930s that basic gear was starting to be implemented.

The rules have always been slightly different for men and women. Men are allowed much more contact than women and therefore are required to wear more protective gear. But evidence shows that neither male nor female lacrosse should be considered a dangerous sport. Statistics show that it is much safer than football or hockey.

Today lacrosse is considered to be one of the fastest growing sports in the US. The sports participation has more than tripled in the past 8 years. The college level participation has exploded to over 400 colleges holding lacrosse clubs throughout the country. And its easy to see why as its a fast paced sport full of sprinting and cutting with precision passing and teamwork to bring it all together. The sport has come along way from the days of sticks and rocksSo goes the history of lacrosse

Because running should equal fun, there's no place for stiffness in the equation. This shoe has a fanned heel design that's less stiff. Plus full heel-to-toe Bounce that returns energy with each step for a supercharged ride.

When people think of golf they think of a sport that is based more around mental capabilities than physical aspects, however there is also one another part of golf that is perhaps the most necessary and that is the equipment a play carries with him or her. Whether it be the set of clubs he or she is using to play with, the balls they choose to hit, gloves, shoes and so many more, golf equipment is a huge part of the game. But can every afford to buy the best equipment? Put straight, no they cannot, but don't fret. There is a way to buy discount golf equipment online and you can save vast sums of money doing so.

As we all know, there isn't a cheap piece of equipment that goes along with playing golf. If you take a look at the price of an average set of clubs in your local golf store, you will notice that the price is most of the time over your budget. There are many discount golf stores available all over the country, but if you could not be bothered looking for one nearby, do what everyone else is doing, search the internet.

There are a myriad of discount golf stores online and all of them will do anything to get you to buy something from their catalog, so use this to your advantage. Ask these stores if they can improve upon their current prices. Shop around first to see if there is the same piece of equipment for sale somewhere else that's cheaper. This way you can get these discount golf stores to bring down their prices. Of course you aren't going to be able to reduce the price of a set of golf clubs, for example, by a couple hundred dollars, but you are going to save 'some' money that you can spend on other equipment, like golf balls, because we all know you can't have enough balls right?

    Quality and Price

Any seller can give you discount golf products at any time of the year but stocking up at end-of-season summer clearance sales might be a good idea when golf shops are getting rid off inventory before winter.

Brands such as Nike, Adidas, Mizuno and Callaway sometimes have promotions and discounts on all their golf products, ranging from their golf clubs to golf balls and golf shirts to shoes. These discount golf products do not lack in quality just because they are on sale, as the same amount of effort is put into each product because they are backed by the manufacturers brand name.

    Accessories

You could save money on golf apparel as even though it looks great to be in correct golf gear from head to toe, it is not necessary for your game. So do not scrimp on golf clubs. Rather, wear regular sports clothes on the course and save.

Also, know where to draw the line between fancy extras and core equipment. Often, salespeople might explain how a particular feature is a must-have, but your homework or advice from golfing buddies can prove otherwise.

Let me tell you this, there are also many discounted golf accessories, like golf bags and shoes that have already been launched during a particular time of high demand. Of course the market has then slumped a little and they have been forced to sell their equipment for less. There are so many ways to buy discount golf equipment and it's imperative that you take advantage of all the offers you can find.

Because cars shouldn't have all the fun, try on these Goodyear-inspired race shoes that embody all the speed and flair of a race car, and get ready to roll. Redesigned for 2008 to include air intakes and extra high-speed impact.

Running is a great way to get in shape and keep fit. If youve decided to start a running program for whatever reason to get in shape, to lose weight, etc then you need to follow some basic guidelines. If you are over-weight or really out of shape get a check-up from your physician before you start.

    Get proper running shoes!

Lots of people start running with inadequate footwear. I advise you to buy a good pair of name-brand running shoes like Nike, Adidas, New Balance etc. At the beginner level you wont need the top of the line model either. You should be able to find a good pair in the $50 to $70 range. Visit your local running store for some good advice.

    Start Slowly

If youre new to running, or havent run in a long time, then you probably wont be able to run very far without getting out of breath. By far the best way to start is to alternate running and walking. Run slowly for about 2 minutes and then walk for 2 minutes to recover. Youll soon be able to increase this to 4 to 5 minute intervals. Then gradually decrease the walking time until you can run 30 40 minutes non-stop. It may take you several weeks to get to this point. Be patient!

    Set Your running Goals

These should be fairly modest to start with, even if you are quite fit. Dont try to run a 26-mile marathon in your first year of running! A realistic goal for the first 6 12 months would be to reach a point where you can run 6 miles. You might want to participate in a local race or two. These are fun events, and are often community-based to raise money for charity or medical research.

    Avoid injuries.

Runners are among the most likely to get an injury of one kind or another. This is usually caused by over-use, but can also come from a biomechanical problem like a weak knee joint or over-pronation of the feet. As a beginner runner you need to be aware of this and build a good base of running before you increase your efforts. Dont be afraid to stop and walk on a run if you are feeling strained.

    Run with a friend.

Running with someone like yourself who is just beginning is a great way to get started. You can chat as you go along, and the time (and miles!) will go by really quickly.

    Take It Easy!

As you get fitter, the temptation is to run further and faster. This is where its easy to get hurt. If its a serious problem like an Achilles heel injury this could knock you out of your running program, and may even discourage you from running altogether.

    Keep a Running Log

This is a great way to keep yourself motivated. The basic items you want to record are the date, how long you were out, and how far you went. You can also note the route you took, the weather, companions, and anything else you feel is important. Your running log can become your daily fitness diary. Another important feature of your running log book is keeping track of your total mileage from week to week. If you increase this by more than the recommended percentage (10 - 15%) then you are risking an injury.

    Players In

    Players Out

Andy Johnson (Leicester City - Free).

West Bromwich Albion bombed out of the Premiership following two seasons in the top flight and manager Bryan Robson will be keen on an instant return. In recent seasons the Baggies have proven they are too good for the Championship but tend to struggle when they do win promotion.

Robson has endeavoured to keep his best players at the club despite interest from the Premiership. The club rejected bids from Manchester United for goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak, citing their desire for a cash plus two unnamed players - one on loan and one on a permanent deal in order for the Polish international to move to Old Trafford.

The Baggies turned down a transfer request from midfielder Zoltan Gera who joined the club from Ferencvaros for 1.5m in July 2004 but was restricted to just 15 league appearances last season. A joint 10 million offer for Nathan Ellington and Curtis Davies from Wigan Athletic was also turned down. Davies joined the club on transfer deadline day last August for 3 million and has also been linked with moves to Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

The future of Welsh international Jason Koumas has also been an ongoing saga with the club rejecting a 1 million plus further 1 million in add ons offer from Cardiff City, where Koumas excelled on loan last season.

With these players all set to remain at the Hawthors, Robson has been very frugal in the transfer market and made just two additions to the squad. Celtic striker John Hartson signed for an undisclosed fee following five seasons in Scotland where he scored more than 100 goals.

Charlton Athletic defender Chris Perry joined on a free transfer after being released in the summer after three seasons at The Valley. The 33 year old Perry has made over 400 appearances in his career.

    Verdict

Manager Bryan Robson has done well to fend off the vultures following the clubs relegation and has kept onto in-demand players such as Curtis Davies and Zoltan Gera. It will be a tough battle at the top of the Championship next season and the Baggies could miss out on automatic promotion and have to make do with a place in the play offs.

Chess is often thought of as a complex game, but can really be easily learned. The key to becoming a better player is to never get stuck on one level of play. Always be adding to your game by learning and trying new strategies. Heres a few tips to start you off.

    Whats A Good First Move?

Want to get the most freedom of your pieces right off the bat? Move the pawn in front of your king forward. While this may seem like it is leaving the king in a vulnerable position, it is also freeing up the queen and bishop to wreak havoc on your opponent!

Get Them In Checkmate In Just 4 Moves

In this series of moves, the bishop and queen are used to get your opponent into checkmate in just 4 moves. For your first move, move the pawn in front of the queen forward by 2 spaces. Your opponents move is next. Then move the bishop diagonal 3 spaces. After the next turn of your opponent, move your queen to the diagonal 2 spaces and let it sit in front of the pawn. Now, depending on your opponents next move, you can zip the queen straight up to his pawn, capture it and get the king in checkmate! Then king cannot capture the queen as he will then be captured by your bishop, he cannot move away from the queen as he is blocked by his own pieces.

    Sacrificing Pieces

While nobody likes to lose a key piece, there are times, however when it makes sense to sacrifice one of your pieces. If an opponents piece is taking up a spot that you need open, putting one of your pieces in a position to lure his piece out to capture you is one way to move your game forward. Since you will be losing a piece, be sure to check the board carefully to make sure this really will result in the move you wanted!

    Put Your Pieces In Play

The pieces in your back row are key to winning the game so you must move them out at first chance. At first you may reluctant to use your more powerful pieces for fear that they will be captured. Put them into play! The sooner you get those pieces out the sooner you will be able to invoke a strategy that will result in checkmate!

Thierry Henry, who was born in Les Ulis, France in August of 1977, is a star footballer for FC Barcelona as well as the French national team. All well-known sporting face, he has fronted ad campaigns for some of the biggest sportswear manufacturers on the planet. Not content to be merely a sports superstar he is also an ardent activist, raising awareness about children and poverty and combating racism in football and the world. Some of his most well known appearances have taken place during the Nike "'Stand Up, Speak Up" campaign.

Although he ended his long association with Nike after the 2006 World Cup, he has enjoyed success with Reebok for the "I am what I am" ad series. This megastar also is enjoying a stint as one of Gillette's featured athletes in the "'Champions Program". During the 2002 and the 2006 World Cup, Henry appeared in a number of television advertisements that promoted football as an activity that should be played for the benefit of young people as a member of the UNICEF-FIFA squad, a team made up of socially conscious professional footballers.

This six foot two inch striker is known by his nickname, 'Titi', but also by his number, 14. He has had this number since his early days with Arsenal and he was given the number when he made the move to FC Barcelona. He is well known for amazing speed, brilliant moves, and the ability to score decisive goals despite full or one-on-one coverage.

Henry began his football career at a young age in his hometown of Les Ulis. He was already playing for a local club by the age of seven, and went on to play for different youth clubs over the next decade. Among these groups were the US Palaiseau, ES Viry-Chtillon, and Clairefontaine. His father, Antoine Henry, was always his most ardent supporter who has encouraged this phenomenal player from the earliest days.

Henry was first signed by Arnold Catalano, an AS Monaco scout. While Monaco were already aware of this goal-scoring powerhouse, it was Thierry Henry's personality and all around abilities that really sold him. It also did not hurt when Henry scored all 6 goals in the 6-0 game that Catalano was watching. Thierry Henry was signed by AS at the age of 13 and made his first professional debut in 1994 when he was still only 17.

Henry then joined Juventus, before moving to Arsenal, where he gained his fame as striker and in 2007, he joined Spanish giant FC Barcelona Today he is one of football's most celebrated players at 31 years of age: and he has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the European Golden Boot, PFA Players' Player of the Year, runner up for FIFA World Player of the Year, and he has been voted French Player of the year four times. Many coaches and players, as well as fans, consider him to be one of the greatest living football players in the world, and even after his departure for FC Barcelona; the Arsenal fans still voted him their best player ever.

Sports fans from around the world flock to the world famous Nou Camp stadium when they visit Barcelona. Buy FC Barcelona tickets online and make sure you don't miss out.

Interacting with your customers in today's business world has become a must.
Does this sound like too much of a strong statement? Well, maybe "must" somehow overplays what is today's reality, but it is indeed true, since all you hear marketers and advertisers talk about lately concerns interactive medias, how these are changing their panorama and how much are they gaining momentum.

In fact, a recent research conducted by WPP's GroupM shows that interactive media's share of worldwide advertising expenditures is likely to reach 15% in 2009, which would be double from four years ago. And apparently, this will remain the main source of growth, as advertising spending in traditional media seems to be on the decline.

So what is this all about?

At Labbrand, we have looked at how interactive medias are changing not only the world of advertising, but also branding practices in general.
Our starting point for this article comes from the core of our own brand vision: the key to every successful brand is continuous innovation. Being on the forefront and differentiating yourself meaningfully once you're there are the most important means brands have to satisfy market needs and ultimately gain customer loyalty.

Naturally, every well-conceived communication strategy needs to be well-balanced to achieve the brand's different communication goals. As for increasing mass brand awareness, traditional media has been and still remains the better performing tool that a brand can use, especially in the short run.

However, when analyzing brand communication from a wider angle, it becomes clear that traditional tools are becoming obsolete. TV and radio commercials, web banners, sponsored links, magazine and newspapers ads, billboards...for decades people have been bombed with a multitude of promotional messages dictating what to buy, and how to do it. Well, now that there are the means to answer, people can and want to have their say on this!

Furthermore, and maybe even more importantly, as the market changes at an ever-increasing speed, it has become more and more difficult for marketers to spot and understand new trends in order to develop products & services relevant to their customers.

In this context, interactive medias give marketers a practical tool to:

    1) Conduct interactive advertising campaigns: either by involving consumers in the creation of the ad or by creatively engaging them in the message through interactive medias.

    2) Have consumers experience your brand outside purchase-like environments. Interactive medias give people the tools to try, play, and live your brand, which eventually can forge a closer bond between this and its potential or existing users.

    3) Conduct research among groups of consumers that are gathered online, in communities, networking sites, groups and industry blogs, or that are linked together through interactive media devices.

    4) Empower consumers with the means to co-create and co-develop new products and services.

These four issues are, we believe, the reason why interactive medias are taking, and will take even more into the future, such an important role for advertising and branding.

    INTERACTIVE ADVERTISING

Companies and professionals have been talking about this for a decade or so already, but it is only in the recent few years that marketers have begun to conceive and launch interactive advertising campaigns. And apparently the initiative has been really successful, as more and more brands are now following pioneers' example.

One of these examples goes back to 2004, when Converse launched one of the first interactive advertising initiatives to date: consumers were asked to create videos showing what the brand meant to them. The result - the Converse Gallery - is a collection of 24 second-videos, made entirely by customers, the best of whom were broadcast on the Converse website, as well as on cable networks. Getting consumers involved in the creation of ads promoted the brand image among target audiences. Also, videos developed by brand fans could quite intelligently address the real meaning of the brand in consumers' minds, in a way likely more meaningfully than traditional promotional messages.

And what about the more recent Nokia project 95 in China? The brand launched a blog-supported N95 road show: Peter Schindler, an experienced traveler, has been called to do a one man road trip across the country and maintain a mobile blog of the whole experience. What a smart way to show and advertise the mobile capabilities and functionalities!

What is really important to note here is that even if brands want to ignore interactive medias, interactive medias are not likely to ignore them!
Online communities, networking sites, industry or users blogs...brand fans and consumers groups are well up and active. Moms talk to each other from one side of the world to the other about diaper brands (very often enabled by the brand itself i.e.: P&G's research section), while sports fans get tuned in on the latest trends and models of their favorite brands through communities. Communities suggest, advise, judge, and complain about brands, creating buzz that can affect the brand both positively and negatively. And they do it regardless of brands themselves.

By ignoring them, brands can be swept up by the noise. However, by using them smartly, brands can participate and somehow lead the conversation inside the community. And if it is true that "buzz advertising" is not easily controllable, it is also true that it can spread virally and it can arouse immediate awareness about new products launches and brand messages in users' circles.

    BRAND EXPERIENCE

And what can be said about initiatives in interactive brand experiences? These might not be called direct advertising, but they surely end up creating relatively more brand awareness among industry fans, while performing better than any ad in spurring customer loyalty.

Take Nike ID for instance. The sport brand website gives people the instruments to build on-line customized shoes which can then be bought to order. The attractiveness here is not really in selling customized shoes (even if triggering sales can never be discarded - and what is advertising about if not triggering sales?) but rather in letting customers play, experience, and live Nike, eventually feeling unique and irreplaceable.

Exemplary interactive brand experience campaigns in Asia can be found in the Adidas "The Rook" campaign. This ran throughout 2007 across China, South Korea, Hong Kong, and the Philippines and was based entirely on an interactive digital web platform that enabled users to "live" a rookie's first season in the NBA. Web users were given access to exclusive footage and 3D video games designed to create a 360-degree experience of the games. Ultimate goal? Naturally, to bond Asian basketball fans to Adidas' brand, but also to create buzz advertising, drive sales of the NBA related products and leverage the sponsorship agreements in the Asian region.

    RESEARCH

If it is true that the aforementioned uses of interactive medias for advertising and brand experience can be extremely valuable for creating a consistent, multilayered and integrated brand communication strategy, it is equally true that interactive media can be even more advantageous for conducting consumers and trends research.

Especially when identifying lifestyle changes and tracking trends over time, researchers can use interactive media to build or use existing online communities, web and mobile panels and then treat these as a dynamic, real time instrument to tap into targeted respondents' brains and uncover invaluable insights.

However, be aware that that simply data-mining existing blogs cannot bring about meaningful market and consumers insights by itself. Communities need to be nourished and strengthened, participants need to be carefully selected and motivated, and moderators need to have the capability to interact with the community while still allowing it to have its own life.

Look at what P&G has done with Vocalpoint. The company has created an online community centered on products and services that moms care and want to talk about. Community talks range from entertainment to fashion, from music to food and beauty and the insights collected from this community are used not only by P&G: Vocalpoint feedback is also sold to third parties!

Even more interesting are the opportunities offered by mobile phones. Recent surveys inform us that nowadays there are three times as many mobile phone subscriptions as there are internet connection subscriptions: with a 40% global penetration rate, mobile phones represent an incredibly effective tool to conduct carefully targeted, real time, wide reaching interactive research.

If properly managed, mobile research will allow marketers to reach a very vast pool of respondents, t sensibly selecting their target on the basis of very precise characteristics, to use not only text but also pictures and videos as questions and answers, and ultimately do all of this in real time.

The opportunities here are countless. It is up to the researcher, however, to capitalize on them. Successfully managing the tool and the audiences through an emerging methodology can prove quite tricky.

    CO-CREATION

Using interactive medias to give your customers the tools to participate in a product's creation and development process could represent a golden opportunity for boosting brand R&D capabilities. There are, indeed, quite a few companies that have thrown global design or product development contests, but just a few really make the best out of engaging consumers in co-creating the brand.

Again, we cannot avoid mentioning P&G in this section, as external collaborations are reportedly playing a key role in nearly 50 percent of the company's products as of today, and co-creation incorporates everything in the company, from trademarks and packaging, to marketing models and engineering, as well as business services and design.

But someone has moved even further. Ryz, a sneaker brand whose design is created entirely by users, allows people to submit their creations and vote for their favorite design on the Internet. The models receiving the most votes are sent into production.

Are you asking yourself what the benefits are here?

As the users themselves create and choose the best product, there is little doubt that this will be successful. No need to hire design staff (or close to none, depending on how far in co-creation your brand goes) and very low investment needed in sales developments, since the product is already promoted inside the community by designers and voters. Is there any more a brand could wish for?

    CONCLUSION

Interactive medias can offer marketers opportunities in different fields: in advertising to start with, but also in creating customer-centric brand experiences, real time research and co-created innovative products. We do not want to argue that interactivity is the only road a brand should walk in order to innovate and rejuvenate themselves. Actually, depending on the industry and the brand goals, other tools might prove relatively more effective.

But interactive medias are indeed one of the choices marketers should consider in their diverse applications and possibilities. In fact, these are gaining increasing relevance in the consumer's everyday life and therefore represent an effective tool to reach them, speak their language, understand their needs and satisfy their desires.

Just as you were ready to trek up the Inca trail to Machu Picchu to see Peru in a World Cup qualifier, along comes Sepp Blatter and his FIFA cronies prohibiting all international games above 2,500 metres (8,200 feet), because it is dangerous for players and gives an unfair home advantage.

As you would expect, the decision has ruffled some feathers amongst the various Andean nations, where World Cup qualifiers are routinely played at high altitude. The question is though - How and why have FIFA come to this decision?

FIFA president, Sepp Blatter, said: I know there will be complaints about this, especially from South America, but we have to think of the health of the players first. It also leads to the distortion of the competition if matches are played at such a level.

There is no doubt that playing at high altitude represents an enormous challenge to the modern day footballer, who is not acclimatised to playing at great altitudes, where the air is much thinner. Anyone who is not acclimatised, and has experienced high altitude will know that you can quickly become short of breath. Some of you will also know that you can feel sick the moment you step of the plane, so you understand where Sepp Blatter is coming from (and that his statement does not sound unreasonable).

But despite this, football has been played at high altitude (by some Andean countries) for more than a century, so why the sudden change?

FIFA has said that it ordered the ban on medical advice, and to end what it classes as the unfair advantage that teams from high altitude regions have when playing visitors from low-lying areas. A quick glance at the home and away records of Bolivia and Ecuador (whos national stadiums are in La Paz 3,600 metres, and Quito 2,800 metres respectively above seas level), will quickly back FIFAs argument.

Although experts from the Andes (in turn) have dismissed FIFAs health concerns, stating that it has provided no concrete evidence that players are at risk playing at high altitude. Admittedly FIFAs health concerns seem rather flawed at this current stage. If they argue that playing at altitude could be dangerous for your health, what about matches which are played in extreme heat (in the tropics of Rio de Janiero in Brazil), or extreme cold (in the freezing winters of Moscow in Russia)?

The ban also appears to apply not only to games involving national teams, but also to international club competitions. What do FIFA expect clubs based in the mountain cities to do? Is it easy for Ecuador to cease playing in Quito, and Bolivia to stop playing in La Paz (as national teams have the luxury of moving venues), but what do the hundreds of domestic club sides do when competing in international club competitions?

To assume that high altitude can solely play a major role in a football game is wrong; otherwise Andean countries like Ecuador, Colombia, Peru and Bolivia would always be the champions of competitions such as the Copa Libertadores, and always qualify for the World Cup. In fact only two winners hailing from those countries (Atletico Nacional in 1989, and Once Caldas in 2004) have actually lifted the Copa Libertadores since it started in 1960. It is also worthwhile noting that Peru have also failed to qualify for any subsequent World Cups since 1982, Bolivia since 1994, and Columbia since 1998.

Argentina and Brazil have had major victories in these countries as well, so there is no truth to these accusations; in fact Brazil only lost their first ever World Cup qualifier in 1994 and that was against the Bolivians 2-0 in La Paz (so they managed countless victories at altitude prior to that result).

The Andean countries believe the move is a political one by FIFA, and has nothing to do with altitude. After Brazils defeat in La Paz in 1994, they have suffered further defeats (along with Argentina) at the hands of the Andean countries, which resulted in a campaign by the continents heavyweights, to ban football at altitude.

FIFA have failed to explain why they have decided on 2,500 metres. Some observers state this neatly excludes (politically powerful) Mexico, and their Azteca Stadium, which is 2,200 metres above sea level (a mere 300 metres below the cut off point). It is quite ironic that Mexicos Azteca Stadium hosted two World Cup finals (1970, 1986) at altitude, but now FIFA are banning matches at altitude.

This only strengthens the Andean nations view on FIFAs stance, being that is specifically targets them. Again the various FA's from the Andres argue that pressure from the continents heavyweights (Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay) has swayed FIFA's decision. The people from the Andres might actually have a valid point, as Brazil, and Argentina both have seats on FIFA's executive committee, and on the medical committee - coincidence?

Whether FIFA will keep their altitude ban in place is open to debate, and will cause many arguments over the course of the year. If FIFA are taking a stance on playing at altitude (based on medical reasoning), then they should consider stadiums where players are subject to heat, and humidity (like games in Manaus, Brazil) as well.

It seems that now the Andean nations are beating Brazil, and Argentina during the World Cup qualifiers (at high altitude), and Uruguay and Chile are failing to make it to the World Cup, that they are now complaining about their health. You have to remember that for more than 40 years, when the continents heavyweights defeated the Andean nations (even at altitude) there was no argument.

Many observers feel that this is an unfair decision, apparently motivated by the national federations from Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay. If FIFA maintains the ban, they should start banning places that are excessively humid or cold. But will FIFA consider this option?

The whole point of having different stadiums in different weather conditions is that teams are truly tested. In the South American World Cup qualifiers, each team plays once at home, and once away against the other nations. The result is that each nation then gets the advantage of being at home and under familiar conditions once. This may be harsh, but any good team can overcome these differences, and it makes for great showmanship and training. FIFA should allow teams to do their talking on the field of play, not in the committee room.

A few important considerations while purchasing wrestling shoes:

    Finding the Exact Size

The initial thing you must do is measure your foot to find out your normal shoe dimensions. A classic pair of wrestling shoes will normally run one half to one complete size larger than your ordinary shoes. Take into account that your fresh wrestling shoes will possibly stretch fairly after a few practices. Keep in mind, the fit should be reasonably snug.

    Brand Collection

While shopping for wrestling shoes, you can trust on "battle tested brands" such as Nike, Adidas, Asics, Infinity, & Brute. You can buy these popular branded shoes on internet or at typical "brick & mortar" stores. A fine quality wrestling shoe will in general last a year or even at times two. It all depends on how much you fight. Take into account that comfort is extremely important. Look for a shoe that features a good rubber sole & high ankle support. The higher class wrestling shoes are made out of a light weight material that inhale & exhale well. It's suggested that you try on numerous different brands to discover the one finest suited for you. Do not hesitate to ask the sales person for assistance. If you are still not convinced which shoe to buy, try to get an advice from your coach or your team mates.

    Color & Style

A lot of manufacturers offer a broad selection of colors to select from. Select a color that goes with you & goes well with your other gear.

Choose either a rip sole or a non rip sole shoe. Rip sole shoes tend to be a slight more comfortable & provide better traction.

    Price

Wrestling shoes usually range in price from $40.00 up to $135.00. It is suggested that you purchase an extra affordable style if you are novice to the sport. If you are working on a truly tight budget, you may desire to consider buying a used pair. You may even try to strike an agreement on a used pair of shoes with one of your team mates. The net is also an excellent place to locate & purchase used wrestling gear.

Some Key Points to keep in mind

Your wrestling shoes should have a nice snug athletic to them. Make certain that you have chosen a pair, which features a sturdy sole & high ankle support.

Soccer crossing can bring greater chances to win at higher levels. An expert coach should train his / her team to build their whole attack around servings balls into the penalty box and battling for the ball in the air.

The team trained that way will be noted for the ground attack. Such a team can score a higher percentage of their goals from crosses served into the box. In this article, I will give you a brief insight into some of the details that go into creating scoring chances from wide postures.

  • Find A Way To Build An Attack
  • Before successfully crossing the ball, the player in a wide position in the attacking third of the field needs to do several things. For example, the first and the most important thing he needs to do is to look up to see where to pass the ball.

The players must keep in mind that if they kick the ball anywhere, it may work occasionally, but that is not the right approach. Before successfully crossing the ball, the players must make sure that they have the best chance possible.

The coach must train the players that a cross is nothing. It is just a long distance pass. Therefore, the player must look up to find out where your teammates are. Only then, he should pass the ball.

Again, it is not just that you have to kick the ball the way you like. You need to listen to your coach. Your body is already facing the direction you want to kick and your coach would want your next-to-last touch to angle the ball towards the goal so that as you cross it.

That is something we call perfect kick in soccer. If you do not follow the coachs words here, you are very much likely to end up in the ball floating high over the end line.

When it comes to Soccer crossing, there are plenty of things to train the players in order to make a winning team.

So you want to get fit. But you're not exactly ready for the olympics. So how do you get started?

    Slowly.

People often get a rush of blood to the head, and want to chuck on a pair of running shoes, and run 200 miles so they can get fit quickly.

The best way is to start very small. I have a big garden, and when I started jogging, I ran around the garden til I was tired. When I started, 5 times round the garden was enough to get me real tired! But that soon went up to 10, then 20. I managed to squeeze a 100 meter "figure of eight" course into my garden, and I now do 40 circuits of this course, which means I run 4 km. I'm no action hero, but it keeps me fit, and it's cheap!

There is however, one expense you need to incur. Running Shoes. If you've got the cash, try and get a decent pair of running shoes. They must be light, the sole must be able to bend a bit by the toes, and they must have ventilation. I've found Asics and Adidas to be OK. But choose your own. Getting blisters does no good for your motivation.

If you are overweight, combine the slow start approach with better eating habits. Lots of greens. Less meats. Smaller meals. You have to suffer a little bit, but believe me, it's well worth it.

If you can find a track where you can run, this is a good thing. It's easier on a track than in your garden, believe me! Or just run on the roads in your neighborhood.

VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE UNFIT (and also for the fit). When you have finished running, don't stop, and fall on your back, and lie there panting. This is a bad idea. Keep walking around, panting! Give your system time to slow down gradually. This is much easier on your heart and muscles, prevents cramps and other nasty things. Don't get too cold before covering up, or getting indoors, and have a warm shower afterwards. (Unless of course you live in the amazon and it's always stinking hot.) A cold shower can be a bit of a shock to your system if your body is really heated up.

Getting fit, even a little bit fit, has many advantages and benefits. The jogging gets your circulation going which purges toxins from your body.

It strengthens your heart muscles, improves circulation through the brain which makes you more alert and able to think clearly.

You will find that you will be less tired at work doing what you've always done there.

You will be able to endure things for longer.

You will feel better about yourself. It's a great confidence booster.

Come on! Give it a bash! You won't be sorry!
